Strattons Farm is situated on a 100 acres located in Stirling-Rawdon. The market garden is presently on a two acre plot where we grow a wide variety of vegetables many of them Heirloom, some dating back to the 1850’s. The farm is powered by May & Lily our two Suffolk Punch draft horses.
The farm does not use any pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. We have three hives on the property which aids us in pollination of the garden. Honey and Comb Honey is available from late August each year.
We raise Heritage Berkshire Pigs, Chickens and Heritage Turkeys. All livestock on the farm is raised on Pasture with additional unmedicated grains and surplus vegetables from the market garden.
We also produce a wide range of All Natural Jams.
Produce can be brought at the Stirling Farmers Market from May through October, or through the CSA (community supported agriculture) boxes the farm offers from mid June till Thanksgiving.
We offer full and half share CSA Boxes with two collections a week from the Farm. Spaces are limited each year. This allows us to produce high quality produce for our members as well as maintaining our stand at the Stirling Farmers Market.
Do check the farm blog on “http://strattonsfarm.blogspot.com for up-to-date news of what’s happening on the farm.
Fresh free range eggs are available from the Farm Gate every day. Please do call ahead in winter months.
The farm at present has three hives, they are cared for by Michael. The bees are used for open pollination in the market garden and from August we harvest liquid and comb honey.
Through out the year we make a wide range of Jams, Preserves, Chutneys and Sauces which can be purchased from the Farm or at the Stirling Farmers Market.
We raise Berkshire pigs at the farm. The pigs are raised on pasture and are also fed on excess vegetables from the garden. Berkshire’s are an old English breed of pig. Berkshire Pork is sold in mixed 20lb bundles. Your bundle will include Roasts, Chops, Bacon and Ground. Individual cuts can also be purchased. From Fall/Winter 2010-2011 we will also be selling whole and half a pig.

2010 will see the farm start work with a Heritage Breed of Draft Horse, The Suffolk Punch. We have two six year old mares May and Lily who joined the farm in December 2009.
We offer CSA (community supported agriculture) vegetable boxes from June to October each year. CSA boxes are through annual membership and availability is limited to ensure each member receives a wide range and variety of freshly picked veggies.
