Kirkland's Heritage Farm caters to the growing public awareness that we are what we eat. Animals on our farm are fed organic grains and graze in fields that are free of chemical sprays. We combine good old fashioned methods with some new modern ones. We know you will enjoy the taste of our fresh produce along with the comforting knowledge that it's healthy and good for you. They rear the Welsh Mountain sheep. This is a rare breed and there are only 800 in Canada. Welsh Mountain Sheep is a small dual purpose breed that provides excellent mild mutton and a completely black, dense, durable fleece.
Donald McEwan and his son Donald Stewart have a sugar bush near Eldorado. They take their sap to Cyril Shaw's Sugar House to be boiled. You can buy maple syrup at the farm gate. Do call if you would like to visit the sugar bush.
Janice Tiessen and Rick Hemmings run FleetBreeze Kennels. Janice Tiessen has been breeding German Shepherds for 35 years. They also tap their maple trees and produce maple syrup and maple butter which they sell from the farm gate along with fresh farm eggs.

We relocated and open our new Sugar House in 2009. We have been producing Maple Syrup for 25 plus years. We use state of the art equipment, which is all lead free. We guarantee that you won't be disappointed when you come and visit our operation. Remember to watch for the Ontario Road Signs, and if the gates are open then we are open!

Elly and Grant Blanchard and family farm at Railway Creek north of Madoc in the Hamlet of Cooper. Elly has 17 years of experience of growing vegetables and garlic using only organic growing methods. Trish Vander Ploeg runs The Plant Place just north of Madoc. It is a garden centre with a wide selection of bedding plants, vegetable plants, herbs, hanging baskets, perennials, trees and shrubs.
Cyril and Isaballa Shaw are the fourth generation to live at the Shaw Farm on Keller's Bridge Road. They ran a dairy farm until the nineties and now concentrate on making maple syrup.
Charles Robinson comes from a United Empire Loyalist family that settles on Robinson Road near Eldorado in Madoc Township. He has lived and farmed there all his life. On the farm they produce hay and cash crops and maple syrup. He is now a Madoc Township councillor and has assisted with the phase-in of conservation-minded waste management procedures.
