The Ketcheson family have been farming in Hastings County for over 200 years and at Moira since 1829.
Since 2000, a number of Amish families have bought farms in Centre Hastings and Stirling-Rawdon. They farm using horses, have set up sawmills and are making furniture.
Charles Robinson comes from a United Empire Loyalist family that settles on Robinson Road near Eldorado in Madoc Township. He has lived and farmed there all his life. On the farm they produce hay and cash crops and maple syrup. He is now a Madoc Township councillor and has assisted with the phase-in of conservation-minded waste management procedures.
The Durkin family has been farming in Tyendinaga Township since the area was settled nearly 200 years ago. For the past 40 years they have run the farm as a beef farm.
