The Village Square on Saturday is the place to be. The atmosphere is friendly, thanks to the members of the Madoc Market Vendors’ Association. They provide excellent products and excellent friendly service as well. The market has become a focal point where residents, as well as visitors, can meet, enjoy a coffee, socialize as well as shop.
Richard Peck, Madoc Market co-ordinator wants to get the word out to anyone who may be interested in bringing their produce to the Madoc Market, that it’s in an affordable setting with a sound advertising campaign. He wants farmers to know the Madoc Market is a viable outlet to sell their produce.
“Hopefully you will find this overview informative,” said Peck. If enough produce is made available the market association hopes to add a mid-week produce market in Madoc
The Madoc Market begin the 2009 season at the Village Square in downtown Madoc, Ontario, on May 9 with a pre season yard sale and runs through to Thanksgiving, October 17. The market’s operating hours are 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. every Saturday.
Whether you are interested in selling or buying homegrown produce, home-baking or handmade crafts, you will find a wide variety at the market. Interesting gift items can often be personalized. Special requests are accommodated where possible.
This market is becoming well-known, not only for its atmosphere but for its weekly barbecue and live entertainment and all that the vendors have to offer. The market provides local and guest musicians and singers a venue to showcase their talents. Community and Service groups are also encouraged to take part as well, and there are special contests, draws, informative displays and theme days.
The Village Square is wheelchair accessible and well-maintained washrooms are available on site. Free parking is available in several convenient locations in the village.
While visiting the charming village of Madoc, in the heart of Comfort Country, be sure to enjoy the local shops and restaurants but above all, don’t miss the Madoc Market.
As you have seen from the overview the market offers a highly visible spot to promote your community group/organization or event.
We offer space to do this every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. s through to mid October. Please be date specific so we can include your submissions within our newspaper advertising campaign and our schedule of events to be listed on the three websites that we have access to Madoc, Harvest Hastings, Centre Hastings, and Comfort County.
Please call Richard Peck, Madoc Market Vendors Association (MMVA) for more details. Registration is at St.Peter’s Presbyterian Church on April 8 at 1 p.m.
