Drew and Betty Ferguson grow organic garlic on their farm on Higway 37 north of Thomasburg. Drew is a professor in the Culinary School at Loyalist College. He encourages his students to use local produce in their menus, and for people to buy food from local farmers.
In August, Drew hangs his garlic out to dry on the doorway of his barn by Highway 37. Watch for the sign ‘Organic garlic for sale’. He doesn’t grow a large amount and it goes quickly.
