David and Gillian Mullins live on Wilson Road in Centre Hastings. They have a flock of sheep selected for their wool. Their sheep are crossbred between Corriedale, Romney and Bluefaced Leicester. Gillian is an expert spinner and sells fine wool, rovings and blended batts in different colours, from white through greys and browns to almost black. Gillian is a member of the Quinte Spinners and Weavers Guild. She is experimenting with growing and using Indigo (Indigofera tinctoriato) to make the well known blue dye and dying wool with it. The year 2009 was the UN Year of Natural Fibres.
Gillian won the top Championship for her lamb fleece at the 2010 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.
