Doug Jarrell runs Doug Jarrell Auctions Ltd as well as a farm. He raised heifers, beef cattle and pure bred Texel sheep for breeding ang for meat. You can buy beef and lamb at the auction barn on Wednesdays when they hold a sale.
The Enright Cattle Company is owned and operated by Darold, Kara and Corben Enright. They raise purebred black and red Simmental cattle just South of Tweed, Ontario. Their philosophy is to raise the best quality beef possible while maintaining exceptional animal welfare practices, making environmentally conscious decisions and building a sustainable business in agriculture. Enright’s animals are raised on a natural, all-vegetable diet without the use of artificial hormones.The summer of 2010 was the first season that Enright’s planted sweet corn and offered it for sale also. All of their products are available from the farm gate. Enright’s also attend the Kingston Public Market on Saturdays (8:15am - 4 pm) and the Montgomery Inn Farmer’s Market in Etobicoke on Wednesdays (3-7 p.m.). You can also try their beef at many downtown Kingston restaurants such as Olivea, Le Chien Noir, Tango and Chez Piggy.
