Ron and Janet Hamilton have farmed on Hamilton Road, Sidney Ward, City of Quinte West, since 1966. Janet (nee Reynolds) grew up in Cooper. Their daughter Lori runs a dairy farm with her husband Dave Chamberlain at Bonarlaw in Stirling-Rawdon. Their son Jeff lives next door. Ron and Janet Hamilton milk Jersey and Holstein cows, using the name Jeffton Holstein and Jersey.

They also have a vegetable garden and a stall at the farm gate. Ron Hamilton became a councillor for the former Township of Sidney in 1985 and was depute reeve for six years and reeve from 1994-1998. He is now a councillor with the City of Quinte West representing Sidney Ward. He has been given the Queen's Jubilee Medal for his community involvement. He has been chair of the Children's Aid Society, and been on boards of Lower Trent Conservation and on Quinte Conservation. He is now the municipal representative for the Quinte Source Water Protection Board. He is a past chair and now board member of the Hastings Prince Edward Counties Health Unit. The Hamiltons have had a vegetable stall at the farm gate for the past eight years. They find people love fresh corn and fresh vegetables and fruit.
