Sam and Mary Loghrin and their daughter Helen live on a farm on the Marlbank Road. Sam and Mary moved there in the 1980s and for the last four years they have sold their produce at an attractive stall at the end of their drive way. Their main crop is potatoes. Sam says with potatoes the soil is important and also how you handle them. They sell red chieftain, russett, kennabec and eramosa. They also sell tomatoes, carrots, cabbages and squash. They have some unusual items at their stall like juniper berries which are needed in many recipes for cooking vension, and Jerusalem articokes sometimes called suncokes. Sam is an engineer by trade and it's interesting to see the machinery he uses to lift fire wood into a hopper.
