As a parent, it is very important to me my teo children get the best I can provide for them, and I no longer which to purchase meat that has been force fed, filled with medications, confined to small spaces and crammed into small cages come processing time. The expression "You are what you eat" brings a very important message to me. And that is: you can only feel as healthy as the foods you feed it are.
We grow our own "non certified" organic chicken in pasture huts with fenced runs to ensure chickens are safe from preditors and can still feed on fresh grass. They are only available in August and September and range in weight from 7lbs to 12lbs.
We also offer free run, "non certified" organic eggs for sale between the months of April through November at the farm. Eggs are collected each day, often during one of our children's farm tours! Brown and White eggs. While at the farm, you will most likely see our Border Collie, Blue, assisting with the safety of our chickens.
If you are someone who has chosen to eat only quality meats that have not been medicated, force fed, confined, or treated with steroids, you may wish to consider our farm as your meat source for fresh or frozen turkey.
We take orders for our frozen Thanksgiving Turkeys starting in December for the comming year. They sell for $3.00 per lb. and are available at the end of September. We still have a couple available.
We sell Goat meat in the Fall from farm gate and in the summer from the farm and at the Tweed farmers market. We sell by the animal at 6 months ( 30 - 45 lb. ) or by the cut at $5.00 to 12.00 per lb.
Darrell Russett has a very good reputation for the high quality of the animals he rears. He runs a large operation with 600 cattle. Russett Farms has beef available year round.
