Local Farmers and Artisans:

Potter Settlement Winery

Potter Settlement Winery near Sulphide, Tweed.P was founded in 2000 by Sandor, Ken and Maureen Johnson on land that has been owned throughout the generations by the family since the early 1800's. Currently under construction and  scheduled to open in 2013 - 'Potter Settlement' already consists of 10 planted acres of vinifera, hybrid and VQA-recognized grapes.

A Brock University graduate in the Oenology and Viticulture program in 1999, the family winemaker Robin Johnson has worked making and selling wine in Niagara, Ontario. He has been employed by Vincor, Thirty Bench, Flatrock, Colio Estates - as well as boutique wineries in British Columbia. Working alongside our father, Ken Johnson - an amateur winemaker since 1988, Robin brings his education and his years of winemaking experience to 'Potter Settlement' to provide a varying selection of outstanding wines which will include: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Marquette, Frontenac (Blanc, Gris and Noir), Vidal (icewine), Baco Noir, Marechal Foch along with hopefully a few other delicious surprises currently in experimental plantings.
