It is a medium sized apple. The flesh white, juicy, very firm, crisp, fine-grained. The flavor is strong vinous or strawberry-like, sub acid, tart, sprightly. Paula Red is a good dessert apple for cooking or eating fresh. It is available at the beginning of September.
