The first fresh taste of spring! We grow two acres of sweet succulent Jersey Giant Asparagus and sell it from early May through till mid June. We harvest by hand every day if the weather is good for growing. We pick rain or shine and sell at the home farm of 1442 Frankford Road every day (including Sundays during harvest time) and daily at Tucker's Corners (accept Sundays). Our asparagus is washed and all tough ends are trimmed off so it is ready to use, or as a real treat eaten raw right from the fields at the stand like many customers do. Information and recipes are available on WillowCreek Farms.

It looks as if Elly Blanchard of Railway Creek Vegetable Farm will have a wonderful crop of asparagus this year. The variety of asparagus she grows is an old heritage kind that produces thick and thin spears. Call her and she will let you know where you can buy it . You can also go direct to her farm at 2601 Cooper Road and buy right off the stand at the end of the drive way or visit her at the Belleville Farmers' Market.
