It is all about knowing your farmer. He is at the First Tapping celebration of the start of the growing season at Terry and Vicki Gervais' sugar bush, Trillium Ridge in Tyendinaga on February 25.

This year it was at Terry and vicki Gervais' Trillium Ridge Sugar Works  at 254 Maple Sugar Road in Tyendinaga, on February 25. Ron Hubbs president of the Quinte Chapter of the Ontario Maple Syrup Producers Association speaks about the history and romance of maple syrup.

It is an educational program which helps farmers reduce environmental risks on their farms and enables them to access grants.
