Giant Hogweed Best Management Practices in Ontario

The Ontario Invasive Plant Council with Ontario Ministry of Natural Resouces (OMNR) and Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) have produced a report on the best management practices to deal with Giant Hogweed. As well as causing environemntal damage sap from the Giant Hogweed can cause phytophotodermatitis, which makes the skin extemely sensive to light and can result in severe burns. According to the report Giant Hogweed has been found along the Trent River at Glen Ross.
