Celebrate Signs on the Salmon. For 12,000 years the Salmon River was an important corridour and destination for early First Peoples. Let it be your destination as we celebrate two new information guideboards on the Salmon Rver. Learn about the Salmon's History and ecology.

Saturday, May 29 at 1 p.m. on Salmon Bridge on Marysville Road with a reception to follow. Also see Harlan House Pottery: classic works of art. 3.30 p.m. at Roblin at the boat launch on the south end of the town for an unveiling ceremony and a relaxing paddle on the river. Reception and sale of local plants.

For anyone wanting to paddle we will put into the water at 2.30 p.m., tour of lovely silver maple area and back to Roblin for 3.30 p.m. for the ceremony. For more information: friends of salmonriver.ca

Nature tour with Terry Sprague: Ontario Woodlot Association Spring Workshop

They say if a bird poops on you it will bring you good luck. Attend our Spring Workshop and you might get lots of good luck or at least lots of bird poop. We have lined up - Terry Sprague expert bird watcher and naturalist - who is going to conduct a morning workshop on the birds and wildlife you might find in your woodlot. After lunch he will lead a nature tour of a local woodlot.

Also Jim Pedersen, Ontario Stewardship Coordinator will give us a talk on the Stewardship Rangers Program for Youths age 17 and an outline of the new Forest Extension Services Program.

Native trees available at Golden Bough Tree Farm Clearance Days

Golden Bough Tree Farm at Marlbank is having its annual clearance sale on May 1 and May 2. There is a large variety of native trees and each spring they sell off some of the larger stock to make room in the nursery.
