Come out for a celebration of local foods, friendship, and community. The annual “Let’s Eat!” dinner will be catered once again by Executive Chef Andreas Applebaum of Gourmet Kitchens Catering, who has been serving meals in the Hastings County area since he moved here in 2008. He’s focused on creating meals that make people happy while using as many local and regional ingredients as possible. In the final weeks leading up to the meal Andreas will be busy adding more farms to the showcase farms we know and love! The meal will be served buffet-style, and the menu includes options to suit most dietary needs and taste buds. There will be five sides including salads featuring locally sourced greens, the main meal of Ontario roast loin of pork, in a sauce including Grills Orchards apples, root vegetables and colourful carrots from Footstep Organics in Wooler, and potatoes. For dessert, we will be treated to a sundae served on a sweet dark chocolate biscuit topped with Belleville’s own Reid’s Dairy vanilla ice cream drizzled with Haskap Berry sauce grown and made at Palliser Downs in Foxboro. To round off the evening, there will be a silent auction with items generously donated from several local businesses. Perhaps you will leave with something you’ve been searching for or didn’t even know you wanted! The “Let’s Eat!” dinner will be held on April 26th at the Madoc Township Office, 15651 Highway 62, from 6 pm to 9 pm.
