Doug Alcock started his firewood business four years ago when he found himself almost short of firewood one cold winter's day and realized there is a strong demand for a good reliable source of firewood. Since then he has been processing about 120 bush cord a year for clients in and around Marmora and the southern Hastings County area.
He recommends people call and book their firewood early so it can be dried in time for the cold weather. He sells bagged campfire wood to custom length, cut face cord and bush cords whatever quantity needed. He accepts all major credit cards, Paypal, ETF and even cash.
He has a new, very visible location on the north side of Highway 7 just west of Marmora, there he has a wood processor that can cut and split about 1.5 bush cord an hour. He can also do custom cutting on home-owner’s woodlot property.
He and his contract employees are trained and have their chainsaw operators’ certification.
