Hastings Meat Market
9:00 am-5:00 pm
At a time when small abattoirs in rural Ontario are closing we are amazingly fortunate to have a new one. Elmer and Eva Widemen, who live near Stirling, bought the former Hastings County Meat Packers plant. After many months of renovations they have reopened as Hastings Meat Market.
Hastings Meat Market offers custom butchering, specializing in beef, pork, lamb, and goat. They have beef and pork for sale in the retail store, in vacuum packs. One can look though to the cutting room and everything is very clean.
Elmer and his family moved to Stirling from the St. Jacobs area, and he has traditional, old-fashioned summer sausage for sale and now has a smoker for bacon and jerky.
Kill day is Wednesday. They can vacuum pack meat for a small extra charge and provide labeling for full traceability.
