Come and enjoy tales and details of our black rat snake. A real one will be there to give us goosebumps! Shaun has done extensive work on black rat snakes in this part of Ontario. Did you know the largest black rat snake ever measured would stretch from the front wheel to the back wheel of a compact car?
Shaun will also educate us on snapping turtles, and other local reptiles and amphibians. The Salmon River watershed is a prime habitat for snapping turtles. Learn more about this fascinating “reptilian character” who needs protection on our roads and trails. Did you know that snapping turtles are good snorkelers?
