Conrad and Jarrett Switzer are the third and fourth generation to farm on Clear Lake Road. Their farm is a mixed operation with an emphasis on beef cattle and seasonal fruits and vegetables. They sell weaned calves at the sale barn for other farmers to rear on.
March is maple syrup season. You can buy maple syrup at the farm gate and at the Bancroft Farmers Market. They offer "pick your own" raspberries, strawberries, currants and gooseberries at the farm.
The vegetables they grow include potatoes, including blue potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, corn, cabbage, pumpkins, squash, onions and three sorts of kale. These are available at the farm gate in season and at the Bancroft Farmers' Market in downtown Bancroft.
Farm fresh brown eggs can be picked up at the farm throughout the year. Conrad Switzer and son Jarrett are proud to be working together to carry on the family history of farming in North Hastings.
