Since 1991, Wilson Forest Products Ltd. has manufactured lumber for retail or wholesale for customers throughout Ontario. Dean and JoAnn Wilson moved their business from north Hastings to the present site just north of Madoc to be more accessible for their retail customers. They do sell wholesale and deliver throughout Ontario.
Wilson Forest Products Ltd. gets locally grown timber from a 100 km radius, working with the Bancroft Minden Forest Company processing timber harvested sustainably from crown land, as well as with others harvesting on private land. At the Madoc mill you can buy a variety of lumber including pressure treated lumber, eastern hemlock, white pine, red pine, white cedar and spruce. Most products can be purchased rough or dressed.
They offer dressed lumber for post and beam homes and for log homes. They have a large selection of log home timbers with sizes from 8 to 16 feet in length. They can also provide log siding. If you are looking for flooring Wilson Forest Products Ltd. supplies tongue and groove flooring in red pine. They also have a variety of pines squares for interior work. As well as v-joint for interior ceilings and walls in cedar and pine.
Sawdust is used for bedding for farm animals or is sent to Pembroke to be made into particle board. Some wood waste goes to Norampac to help fuel the steam boiler.
