While urban Ottawa is wrestling with issues from rapid transit to planning the future of the small villages in the city’s outlying areas, rural folks in North Grenville are talking about a new kind of rural renaissance.
The University of Guelph Kemptville campus hosted the first bilingual Eastern Ontario Local Food conference last week at the W. B. George Centre.
The focus of the conference was talking about ways to enhance our regional and local food system based on the positive experiences of other food producing communities. More than 200 interested visitors came to the conference.
