The Emerald Ash Borer is heading our way. This beetle, with a metallic green body, kills any ash tree it inhabits within two to three years. It’s actually the larvae of the Emerald Ash Borer that kill the ash trees. By tunneling under the bark to feed, they cut off the flow of nutrients and water. Infested ash trees become extremely porous and are at risk of breaking or falling, posing a danger to residents, adjacent buildings, vehicles and property.
