Lyme disease isn’t a ticking time-bomb in the city, insist Toronto Public Health officials.
As the weather becomes warmer and tick season begins, the health department said it will “monitor” the situation after black-legged ticks were found in Rouge Valley in November and some of those insects tested positive for the bacteria that causes Lyme disease.
