Peter Mewett is one of the most experienced local bee keepers. He lives near Stirling with his wife Judy and family. He runs 100 bee colonies and produces both liquid and creamed honey. He practices an organic approach to beekeeping, where chemicals are not used in the hive with the exception of formic acid, a naturally occurring soft chemical used to control bee mites. Peter has been on the executive of the Quinte Beekeepers Association and on the board of directors for the Ontario Beekeepers Association. You can buy honey and nucs directly from Peter Mewett at his home.
