It’s March — time for maple syrup, membership renewals, and getting on the map!

We hope you are keeping safe and well as we welcome warmer weather and more light back into our lives.

Have you renewed your membership for 2022? You can register and pay at this link: Get Involved | Harvest Hastings. The annual fee is only $35 per person and there are many benefits to becoming a member!

This year, in addition to a detailed profile in our annual magazine, Harvest Hastings members also have the opportunity to be included in our regional Agri-tourism brochures! We received funding from the Community Futures Development Corporation of North & Central Hastings and South Algonquin to produce a series of regional brochures to encourage locals and visitors to spend a day touring farm and forestry operations in Hastings County. We’ll be distributing the printed brochures to tourist information centres and making them available for download from our website. If you have an active farm stand or storefront, or offer unique experiences for visitors (e.g. farm and forest tours, workshops, etc…) then this is a great opportunity to get on the map and help direct more consumer traffic to your business! You must be a member of Harvest Hastings to participate, and the cost is only $25. For more information, email us at [email protected] — the deadline to get involved is this Monday, March 14th!

This Spring, watch for Harvest Hastings at farmers’ markets and community events! We’ll be handing out 1000 packets filled with locally sourced seeds from Terra Edibles to help you Get Growing this season! Thanks again to the Community Futures Development Corporation of North & Central Hastings and South Algonquin for their support of this project!

FUNDING FOR FARM HELP AVAILABLE!

Need a hand on the farm this season? Hire a student and introduce them to the amazing world of agriculture! The Youth Employment and Skills Program offers support for 50% of wages to a maximum of $14,000.
Application deadline is March 21.

Hastings County has supported the growth of our organization from the very beginning!

Sowing connections. Growing community.
