Local poultry farmers who are currently forced to travel long distances to the nearest poultry abattoir will be pleased to learn the National Farmers Union is working hard to bring an abattoir closer to home. A committee put together by the National Farmers Union Local 316 (NFU) Frontenac, Lennox and Addington is in the final stages of conducting a feasibility study for a local poultry abattoir – but only time will tell if it will reap the reward of a local facility.
